Library Resource Information

Because our knowledge and use of technology has increased, and the librarians continue to enrich our lives more easily accessed information, everything you need to help your student can be accessed from home and on line. So, handouts are not needed!

Here are some instructions:

1. Log on to your Blackboard account by going to http://fcps.blackboard.com. If you haven't signed up for Parent View during the Back to School nights, you can log on to Blackboard with your child's student ID number (on their report card) and use their password.
2. Under My Family, there is Westfield HS. Click on your child's name.
3. Click on Westfield HS Library
4. In the left hand column, click on Databases. The Guide to Online Databases includes descriptions of the various sources that the school and/or county has contracted with
   1. The rest of this section contains links that will connect you to subscription databases of magazines, newspapers, and reference books. It also includes usernames and passwords for home access.
   2. There is also a section called Tutorials, which includes helpful information, like Noodletools, that assist in preparing a formatted Bibliography or Work Cited page, as well as help in finding articles through the various sites.
