News from our President, Cathy Pisarcik
August 2013

Hello,

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year and to Westfield High School’s PTSA!

The PTSA website, www.ptsa.westfieldhs.org and the school’s main webpage contain valuable information. Please bookmark the websites and check them often. Also, please “like” us on Facebook. You can find us at Westfield High School PTSA.

We hope to see many of you at the upcoming Freshman/New Student Parent night on Wednesday, August 21st at 7 pm in the auditorium, at the first PTSA meeting on Thursday, August 22nd at 7 pm in the library and on Tuesday, August 27th from 5 pm- 8 pm for this year’s Bulldog Barbecue!

We hope that you will join the PTSA this year. You can join online via our website or you can obtain a membership form on the website, at the barbecue, back to school nights and in the main office. Our goal is to help all students reach their potential by working alongside the school in any way possible. We offer grant opportunities for teachers and parent programs at both the PTSA meetings and along with the Student Services Department throughout the year. We support many events and activities throughout the year, which will be included on our website and our Facebook page. Everyone who joins by September 30th will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire HD!

Bulldog Barbecue: Planning has taken place all summer for the August 27th Bulldog Barbecue! Thank you to Mr. Cowell and Kelly Roberts Estep for leading the way! This is the time to turn in the required forms, pick up your student’s schedule (only after forms have been completed and turned in), join the PTSA, visit various booster group and club tables, support our local vendors by eating dinner at the BBQ, visit class tables, hear our marching band, listen to theatre performances, and much more! Student forms can be printed from the WHS main website, click on “Student Packets” located on the left side of the page.

When you return to the school, please notice the fantastic looking grounds. Thank you to Beth Tweddle, the ten volunteers who helped on landscaping day, Mr. VanTrees, the WHS custodial staff and RulyScapes. Thank you for all the hard work!

Once again, throughout the school year, volunteer needs will be posted on Sign Up Genius. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/whsbulldog. Thank you for the time you can give. Every bit helps!

I look forward to seeing returning families and meeting new ones!
